There’s an online petition that
has been circulating on the internet seeking the ouster of Senator Vicente
"Tito" Sotto III in 30 days. I actually predict that this might happen because
many Filipinos are now mad with him especially when he insulted bloggers in
general without knowing that bloggers are more powerful social user among any
social network around the web.
The petition at the Change.org (a
well known website to get an easy petition for a change and make difference or
in laymen terms to get a strong strike online) accuses Sotto of allegedly
using his political and showbiz influence in spreading misinformation on the
reproductive health (RH) bill. It also accuses Sotto
of being a serial plagiarist without remorse. It is also discovered that many in his speech were just taken from articles and blog in the web, but the most recent is his translation speech from former Democratic Senator of US Robert F. Kennedy, he literally translated it per paragraph and claim it in his own.
"He steals other people's
opinions when he doesn't have his own and shamelessly distorts them to advance
his own stupid, selfish cause. He is a very bad example to the youth who might
as well be allowed to cheat in their exams, and he bends religious teachings to
justify his acts," the petition said.
It also accuses Sotto of being
sexist for blaming the death of his unborn child on his wife's unconscious use
of contraceptives when he could have prevented the accidental pregnancy by
wearing a condom. (Wait on the interview to his brother Vic Sotto and Joey they
said that they often visited the baby until it suddenly dies and also the pills
that he mention don’t exist in the time that his son die ~ a really liar person
don’t deserve to get elected again)
The petition also emphasize
that he is not a victim of cyber bullying, the people were just spoken about
his wrong action in their free will. The petition has already gathered
9,000 signatures so far and it keeps growing, but the question is will the
senator be move and will feel guilty of what he do? How far will this petition go, if the accused senator still justify that his action is not wrong (thick
face)?
