My Bro's Mustache: A Place to Chill and Entertain

I have been invited by a friend to get dine at "My Bro's Mustache", it's been a long time since we've been together back in college. She is always my partner in all our thesis where I am always in-charge to do a research and calculations while she take care in all the drawing that we need to submit to several Engineers and Architect in our school. We can never be apart in fact if one subject fails both of us are included. Back to the present she is now a successful Engineer in Dubai and me as a successful housewife lol.

And to make the story short she was the one that will treat me and friends at Mustache which is my first time I set my foot on that resto located at Timog. I was so surprise that the place was cozy and spacious inside. We just order a few light drinks and some awesome foods at Mustache. And later on some of our friends are keep on coming to get together and have a mini reunion. We enjoy every minute there and we all love the foods that was served to us. And then at exactly 7 pm some musicians are set to play live music, which of course we enjoy it, I also notice a familiar face like Joey Ayala which is known to his hits in early 80's and 90's.

We then realize that My Brother’s Mustache Folk Bar is the home of local folk musicians. Jess Bartolome, Florante,Paul Galang, Lester Demetillo. Albert De Pano,Heber Bartolome, Chickoy Pura, Joey Ayala, Lolita Carbon, Juan dela Cruz and upcoming artists are the regular performers. Will definitely go back there and have a chill meeting with some colleagues from now on.

Finally the billionaire CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg tie the knot with her long time girlfriend Priscilla Chan in his home California yesterday right at Zuckerberg's backyard.

The wedding was so simple that the 100 guest thought that it was just Priscilla's graduation celebration not until it began the simple ceremony and Zuckerberg put the simple ruby ring on his wife. Mark change his status immediately in FB after the wedding. The couple have met at the Harvard and been together for long 9 years.

Congrats to both of you. Lucky couple indeed! Best wishes!

Mo Twister and 2 DJ Suspended on Charice Hashtag

Mo Twister together with the two DJ's of radio station of Magic 89.9 was suspended for starting the hashtag #charicepempengcosextape in the micro-blogging site twitter.com. It all started as a joke on their radio show "GoodTimes" last Wednesday and became the top trending topic in the Philippines. Although the 3 DJ's including Mo were suspended for two weeks without pay as a consequences for their action, the said show was still airing with a different host. The station of Magic 89.9 release a statement said “does not condone what happened this morning on May 9, 2012 at GoodTimes.”

Meantime Charice, in her official Twitter account said she thought Mo or Gumatay in real name was nice and that he was “unbelievable” as she was also on his show before for a guest interview. She also seeking the advice of her lawyer for a possible lawsuit. Charice are set to come home for "The X Factor Philippines" as one of the panel judge.

Mo Twister has apologized for the incident via a series of tweets, saying the "joke" was "dumb" and "cruel."

"On behalf of @suzy899 (Tin Gamboa) and@mia899 (Mia Bayuga), we apologize to Charice for our stupid behavior and immature attempt to generate laughs," he added.

Lesson learned: Do not joke with a celebrity that has a lot of followers and are always updated on their blog site and social network, especially with Charice that her fans "Chasters" are fully supported to the singer, as this happens also to Ogie Diaz by twitting something bad about Charice before, where fans threatens him to boycott all of his shows and his handlers.

Selena Gomez Sued for Plagiarism

Selena Gomez is being sued for speculation that her song's chorus in "A Year Without Rain” is an exact copy of the band Luce’s 2005 track, “Buy A Dog.” The band members and plaintiffs include Tom Luce, Brian Kroll, Matt Blackett, and Lawrence Riggs and are also suing the Disney star’s co-writers Lindy Robbins and Toby Gad for $1 million.

The melodies in the chorus of both songs are kinda identical in tunes. What do you think of the song, the later videos are obviously older than the music video of Selena Gomez which is probably the original one.

Breakout and breakthroughs at SM City Batangas the last on-ground audition

The last streak may just be it. TV5's newest and biggest singing reality search Kanta Pilipinas held its last on-ground auditions April 20-21 at SM City Batangas. The last opportunity to get approval from Inspirational Diva Ms. Jamie Rivera, award-winning musical arranger/composer Mr. Jimmy Antiporda and Talent Manager Ms. Maristel Sempedro was quite tough with more than 247 aspirants.

Ms. Nini Matilac, Head for TV and Film of Futuretainment Inc., joined in selecting the best talents for the show. Like what they have done in Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Baguio, Iloilo and SM North auditions, hopefuls were given tips and suggestions on how to improve their performances and what best to do next time they try to audition in other contests and programs. Since looks are not enough to get in any singing reality shows, those who failed auditions in previous on-ground auditions determined to try their luck on the last on-ground auditions at SM City Batangas. Some aspirants who followed the judges' suggestions and criticisms made it and some did not despite the long travel from other regions. With four audition judges arguing on points to consider for each contestants who tried luck on stage, the decisions were sometimes unanimous and magnanimously split. A blind choir singer traveled all the way from Quezon City and wowed the judges while a girl from Zamboanga made the judges awe at her performance. There were also groups and performances who were so great on the first day and failed to get in the final list on the call-back auditions. Wrong choice of songs and missing soul in performances made some aspirants cry on stage but grateful for the experience after. Just when the crowd was set to leave the audition came a beautiful lady from Quezon City who wowed the judges with her appearance and voice quality. The last on-ground auditions drama continued with the call-backs from where 48 in the list cut down to 29. The judges found it difficult to eliminate some contestants whose voice quality was compared to those seen in international singing reality searches. Audition Judge Mr. Jimmy Antiporda provided some contestants piano musical arrangement to those with wrong choices for the last chance to get the approval of the judges. The Dream from Cagayan De Oro

With 180 registrants last Feb. 24, 2012 in SM City Cagayan De Oro reaching the cities of Iligan, Misamis and Cagayan, 76 hopefuls were called back and only 37 passed the judges’. Filipino pop songs became the favorite rendered on the stage with many who rendered the Grammy Award winning songs of Adele and Whitney Houston, hopefuls came from different communities and barangays. Inspirational Diva and audition judge Ms. Jamie Rivera was excited to listen to the stories of the Cagay-anons. Award winning Cross Genre Composer, Arranger, Producer Mr. Jimmy Antiporda raised eyebrows asking a couple who sang on the stage. “May conflict ba yan?” relating to the girl singer and pianist boyfriend as he was alluded in the same shoe with Ms. Jamie Rivera in the past. Ms. Maristel Sampedro became the comic relief throwing funny comments at gays impersonating Whitney Houston on the stage. What astounded the judges and onlookers was the ex-convict contestant who vented denouncing his past as a former member of the Akyat-Bahay gang. There was also one with 11 siblings living in different parts of Mindanao hoping to be reunited with dreams through Kanta Pilipinas.

Cebuanos wow TV5’s Kanta Pilipinas judges

Fun and more fun of TV5’s Kanta Pilipinas’ call for the nation continued in Cebu last March 2, 2012. Hosted by Jhai’Ho, the event center of SM CITY CEBU filled the mall with 424 registrants and more than a thousand onlookers and mall-goers when TV5’s Kanta Pilipinas began the auditions. Audition Judges Ms. Jamie Rivera, Erickson Raymundo and Mr. Vehnee Saturno entertained the crowd with their comments and reactions. Interesting songs and stories unveiled like a girl from Surigao who won a local contest in her province was sponsored by the Mayor to go to Cebu to audition so she can fly to Manila to look for her Dad whom she never met. The humble dream to be reunited with the father was referred as “Taong-Grasa”. Ms. Jamie Rivera tried to enliven the spirit of the sobbing participant, “Kung ang tatay mo taong grasa, alam ko kung ano ka (Baby Oil”? which the mob appreciated. Cornerstone Talent Management Center Head Mr. Erickson Raymundo pushed the inspiration more with his comments, “Bigay mo na lahat ng Kaya mo, Buwis Buhay na ito”. Another pupil-dilating story was a girl who has Retinitis Pigmentosa (a rare disease suffering from loss of sight at night), a girl born with hairlip but can now sing and a girl who want to give honor to her island (referring to Siargao). From the 424 registrants, 51 hopefuls were called back the next day and only 16 passed to get to Manila.

Judges awe at Davaoeños

Adele and Whitney were still the national anthem among contestants along with other standards and OPM pop songs like Angeline Quinto’s Patuloy ang Pangarap in SM CITY DAVAO last March 10, 2012. Hosted by the perky and lively Jhai Ho, TV5’s Kanta Pilipinas in SM CITY DAVAO became the talk of the town especially after the last calamity struck in the province. Giving hope to all Davaoeños, Ms. Jamie Rivera, Mr. Jimmy Antiporda and Mr. Erickson Raymundo enjoyed the performances of Davao hopefuls. From the roster of 378 registrants coming from the cities of GenSan, Cotabato, Sarangani and other outskirts, 46 contestants were given another chance to get the judges’ attention the next day. There was one welder who stood out despite his looks rendering an unforgettable performance and a farmer who dreamt of having his own land. Stories of broken families and living with stepfather were cognizant to the other contestants’ sorrows except for an interesting unemployed young man who makes a living out of singing earning his talent from his disabled grandfather. Ms. Jamie Rivera had a hard time choosing who will go to the next level after consecutive outstanding performances of the hopefuls. At the end of the second day call-back auditions, 22 hopefuls from Davao made it in the list of eliminations.

The looks and the talent soar in Baguio

TV5's newest singing reality search, Kanta Pilipinas held auditions at the Summer Capital of the country, Baguio City. The nationwide search for the country's biggest talent brought more crowd witnessing the Ilocanos take the stage with formidable and truly exceptional celebrity judges, award winning Cross Genre Composer, Arranger, Producer Mr. Jimmy Antiporda, Power belter Ms. Bituin Escalante and Cornerstone Talent Management Head, Mr. Erickson Raymundo. Powerful songs sung and interesting stories unfolded with more than 193 registrants who tried and participated. Perky and crowd-attraction Jhai'Ho opened the program with dynamic song and dance boosting more confidence of the contestants. Compared to the former auditions, the hopefuls in Baguio did not choose Adele's songs and stuck to standards and classics. Onlookers and mall-goers were drawn to the stage as many hopefuls look truly exceptional and pleasing. Was the looks enough to get the vote of the judges? Ms. Bituin Escalante was teased in the middle of the auditions to sample what would be "giving all you've got" performance. From a batch of 193 registrants, 43 were called back and only 16 was given the recognition to compete with the nation when Kanta Pilipinas begins airing on July. The discerning exceptional performances from Iloilo

TV5's Kanta Pilipinas brought the Filipino pride, musical tourism set to promote the country's local talents in the City of Love, Iloilo last March 23-24, 2012. If it was so easy for the contestants in other regional audition venues to come to the stage and bring the house down with their confidence, the Ilonggos were so nitpicky and conservative supporting the hopefuls who had more talent than stories. This time, the country's considered RnB Siren Ms. Arnee Hidalgo joined our panel of judges, Cornerstone Talent Management Head, Mr. Erickson Raymundo and award-winning cross genre composer, arranger and producer Mr. Jimmy Antiporda selecting the country's top local performers in SM City Iloilo. Recently these young popular couples have been talk of the town and a feast for all the camera around them being caught in a PDA or public displays of affection, especially "kiss cam liplock" incident at the Lakers game just last week. And now rumored have began in web that the two are now engaged because the boyfriend Justin Bieber have been reportedly purchased a something blingy finger for her girlfriend Selena Gomez. Though it wasn't confirmed whether it is a ring or something accessories worn in the finger. But Justin's rep quickly terminated any speculations about the engage thing, telling the press that it was a "complete bullsh*t".

Tupac Hollogram at Coachella

How would you feel if a dead singer came out at the stage and have a lively concert? Sounds creepy right? This was happen at the Coachella known as The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival an annual three day musics and arts festival held in California.

Tupac Amaru Shakur (real name) known mostly by her name in the music industry to be 2Pac came out at the stage and looks as if doing a song with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg but what's shocking about it is that Tupac was already dead 16 years ago. He was shot four times in Las Vegas, Nevada though he was taken to the hospital he died after six days that he was shot.

According to Wikipedia: Afeni Shakur and Assata Shakur, his mother and aunt respectively, were involved with the Black Panthers, and Tupac made reference to the organization in the song Changes. Shakur was involved in a West-coast East-coast rivalry after a major feud with East-coast rappers, producers and record-label members of staff.

2Pac concert video at Coachella was an integrated hologram, it almost looks real 2Pac performing at the stage, that made the audience shocks for a little. Tupac's Coachella performance was actually not a hologram after all, but was a common theatrical illusion. At Coachella, Tupac's HD image was projected onto a the mirror floor and reflected onto a mylar film placed at a 45 degree angle to the stage. Will this opens a new door of music career for all dead singers? So creepy, yet not!

How I Solve The Annoying Floating Box on my Site

I am glad that finally I got the solution on annoying floating box in my site. Actually its not me who discovered it but a fellow bloggers in FBW community who have a concern with my site (thank you guys). Although I try hard to fixed it with myself but I end up wasting my time that I can't fixed it. At first I thought it will be gone after a week because it just happen recently, but same thing happen to my other blogs who only have a default theme free from blogger. Though it will be gone after some refreshing but keeps on coming back after a few times. You can see it at the top header, sometimes in the body or in the middle of my blog.

What does annoyed me?

The picture below is the screenshot of my blog www.fitandfashionmom.com taken by CM of fromthedungeon.com who notice also a floating something in my sites and rest of my blog. He actually called my attention and post this on the FB group on what the hell is this that keeps on blocking the whole post. I don't really know what is this either maybe because I keep on changing the HTML of my themes, but I am no brainer person to find out what is the problem in my blog.

Annoying Floating Box and keep on coming back after refreshes

The solution for this annoying floating box.

Luckily Gay of www.bloggerstech.com fixed it, a fellow blogger in the group who knew how to solved a problem like this on any themes and HTML. She found out that the cause of the problem is the fb like button that comes with the sharethis button. But this will not happen if you don't include the fb like button on your blog and you are safe not to experience the annoying floating box.

Later, I also find out that some of my fellow bloggers experiencing the same way as I did, and like me they think that it has only a glitch on the blogger.com that soon will fixed itself and will be back at normal. But we also find out that same thing happens around the blogosphere who put also the fb like button of sharethis through their own forum and has no definite solution to the problem but not to include it on your button.

The solution that Gay gave me is to either get other sharing button or just put it separately on your blog as long as you don't put the fb like button of sharethis and there will be no problems at all. I feel that I need to blog this because I still see some bloggers having the same issue like this one and to say thanks to all the people who helped me solved my problem, which is kinda beyond of my knowledge.

American Idol Top 7 Jessica Sanchez Stays (Shocked) Updated

PS: I updated this blog because the YouTube keeps on blocking the shocking video, that makes Jessica Sanchez saves that night. I also notice a lot of boo's from the audience after it was announce that Jessica will leave the show, which makes the judges shock for a moment and definitely will use the only one save card for the whole season.

I seldom watch American Idol season due to its time to be aired in my place, though I always wanted to know who's in or out especially that the American-Mexican Jessica Sanchez have strongly stays on American Idol, and this is my first time that I will blog about AI because I was also shocked with the following scenes and happenings in AI along with the unbelievably reactions from the studio audience.

Jessica unfortunately landed the bottom of 3 and received the lowest votes from America, she will sing her last performance and will be judge again by the judges. All the judges got shocked, JLo got mad and stopped Jessica while singing the song (please do notice how Jessica reacted while JLo pushing her to take the sit), Randy Jackson announced that they are saving Jessica Sanchez without any doubt, the three judge agreed to used the save card for the reason that Jessica is one of the best singers in America.

For now the top 7 will stay together. However, since the judges decided to save Jessica, they will no longer be able to save the remaining contestants who get booted off in the coming eliminations.

Have you seen the newest TV commercial of sulit.com and ayosdito.ph? It is never come in my mind that the leading website in the Philippines will launch their TV commercial just to reach more market and prospect clients. The sulit commercial have been voice over by weather news anchor of TV5 Lourd De Veyra and ayosdito stars a leading actor John Lloyd Cruz for their commercial.

I don't know what their aiming for, but I find it unusual and amusing to see a commercial of any website while they are already known commercially on the internet. So, tell me what do you think with these commercials? Enjoy the video below:

Extreme Makeover Home Edition Philippines

Extreme Makeover Home Edition is here!

At last, my favorite show that I can only watch on cable has finally here in the Philippines. Before, I really wished that a show like that has its versions in the Philippines, and wow it came true, through the continuing progress and growing of "Kapatid Network" TV5, they really brought it here in the Philippines. I want to personally gave thanks to the Management of TV5, because it will somehow uplift the lives of those family that is really in needy and deserving to have their home that was built to last . Although this will only entitled for those who have already home and yet their house wasn't safe for living or rain can pass through their roof just like what I've seen in America.

I am just curious how will the show run, because in the US every material was made a pre-cast and they can actually build for only two to three days and they seldom use hollow blocks and cements, which in our country needs some time for plastering to get dry. Well let's all find out as it will aired on TV5, April 15, Sunday at 8:30 PM after "Talentadong Pinoy". Watch out also for the "Road to the Makeover" Monday to Friday after Face to Face.

Dreaming about it

Well, do you dream also to be featured on this amazing Home Makeover and get a chance to take a vacation while your home are renovating. Wow amazing right, I can imagine how positive it will be to start a new life to begin for those lucky family.

Earth Hour will be happening today March 31, 2012 starting 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM at participants local time. This year the theme is: "I will, If you will" with the intention of participants to go beyond of one hour of switching off lights and unnecessary appliances.

According to wikipedia in Philippines alone it was noted that the power consumption dropped 78.63 megawatts in Manila and 102.2 megawatts in Luzon, while Visayas and Mindanao have already a rotating brownout enough already if joining the Earth Hour. Okay so school has finally ended but will definitely have a next level on it. During the vacation from school, we are trying our best to save up for tuition fees and for books. And the easiest way to save from books is buying textbook used by those student who have recently completed their semestral or just sell textbooks that your student have completed and used that money to buy again a textbooks or second handed textbook to buy it in a more cheaper price. In this times of ours, one must be practical in order to sustain the education of our children, the most important is we can still gain a knowledge out of a secondhand book. Happy vacation everyone!

My wall of FB and twitter have been flooded with this "noynoying" thing. Noynoying that derived from planking and the nickname Noynoy of President Benigno Aquino III is a new form of protest as a sign of no action to our government despite the huge overprice of gas. But unlike "planking" which facing down and leveled with the ground "noynoying" was simply doing nothing like lying around, yawning, sitting idle, grin and looking boring. Activist makes sure that they will spread this form of protest to all social network in hopes that PNoy will do something about our main problem in the country. Too bad that Malacañan Palace just shrugs their thoughts about it.

Happy Pi Day! Because this day: March 14 is Albert Einstein's birthday too. What a coincidence right? Where Pi ( ∏ ) is approximately equal to 3.14 or 3.141592653.

According to Wikipedia, Pi Day is a holiday commemorating the mathematical constant π (pi). Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (or 3/14 in month/day date format), since 3, 1 and 4 are the three most significant digits of π in the decimal form. In 2009, the United States House of Representatives supported the designation of Pi Day.

It was Larry Shaw that started Pi Day back in 1988 a Physicist that works in San Francisco Exploratorium, where they actually marched on a circle spaces and consumed fruit pies. From then on they continue celebrating it until in 2009 the US House of Representative recognized March 14 as National Pi Day. And baking and eating a pie was part of celebrating it.

Right now I am having a hard time with our electric bill, where I am the one that pays for it. My business were not good and my hubby's remittance are quite delayed. And so I'm searching some ways on net how I can save more on electricity because the bill were a bit blown last month. My searches lead me to "Daylight Savings Time" in the US. According to their history they have change "Daylight Saving Time" DST in hope to save more in the use of electricity, where studies shows that most home owners in the US used more electricity when they go to bed and when they get up out of the bed. Some of the appliance they have used are lights for lightning outside their homes, lights inside their home, TV, Stereo, VCR, personal computer, air-con or fan.

Daylight Saving Time in America began in 2 a.m. on the second Sunday of March and lasts until 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of November. Studies proves that they have trim a one percent of their electric consumption each day with Daylight Saving Time DST. Now I wonder if we can applied and implement it too on our country by getting up early and leaving our home off to work, with the idea of less consumption of our electricity. Since we Filipino uses more electricity when we are at home especially when times of getting ready for bed, most of us uses fan or air-con while sleeping probably more during summer where our bills increases too.

But first who is Kony? Joseph Rao Kony was born on 1961 in Odek, Uganda, he is Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the "Lord's Resistance Army" (LRA) their group have abducted and forced children to fight for them.

Can you imagine the life in Uganda, they keep on hiding and running from these rebel because once they have taken the parents cant see those children again either they became rebel, died, rape or massacre. Kony is the worst criminal ever lived on Earth he was a horrible nightmare of every people in Uganda.

It is not right that we all enjoy freedom, all the necessity in the world while people there are keep on running for their life. They are poor, no food to eat and have no choice once they have abducted.

So how can we help?

Why I Love Being a Mom and Blogger

All woman whether we like it or not will become a mother in the future. I thought before that some mom are just really great and talented to take good care of their family, to become an all around servant for her family. Not until I became a mom too, it's a responsibility that summoned in me to do the things that I used to see on other mom. Little did I know I became more protective, more alert and more budget conscious on this field of motherhood. So this is not really inheritable but it is really a responsibility to take charge of everything.

But blogging at the same time became more challenging to me, imagine me taking care of all the errands of the house plus carefully guiding my son and the idea of writing my blog after all this work. It is actually hard but fun and fulfilling too. That in the middle of washing the dishes I am also thinking what topic should I write next, I am actually stealing time for blogging and the rest of it was for the home purpose only. If only all I need to do is write and write then share and share, but no blogging wasn't done overnight. I need to continually optimize it, engage with it and trying to beautify it with the best that I can on which I am lacking of time to do so.

And for this I am joining this Bloggy Goodies Contest for a chance to have a blog makeover or having a decent badge and logo for this site, hopefully I win but if not it was fun to do so after all this is the reason why I love being a mom and a blogger.
